Legendary actress Sherihan has been swept away by Egypt's newly fomed Popular Current Party.
The birth of the liberal group - headed by former presidential candidate Hamdeen Sabbahi - was celebrated in Abdeen Square on Saturday night. Sherihan joined a host of Egypt's VIP's pledging their allegience amidst a wave of 30,000 fired-up supporters.
Ever the shy and retiring wallflower - the star couldn't resist the chance to welcome Hamdeen onto the stage. But, she was soon forced to return to her seat to listen to the party leader's opening speech.
Now that Sherihan's put her face to the party, we're sure this isn't the last time she'll be in the political spotlight.
