Iraqi singer Shatha Hassoun said that she is not obsessed with her singing career, despite the fact that she loves what she does.
“If one day my career affects my life in a negative way, I am willing to quit and never pick up a microphone again,” said Shatha.
According to the internet website MBC.net, Shatha said that unlike many performers, when she was young she was not focused on becoming a singer. Shatha took part in a number of singing talent shows, but was unsuccessful until she participated in the talent show “Star Academy,” which launched her singing career.
Shatha said that she refuses to have her singing career affect her personal life, especially her family, and that she does not compete with any singer.
“I am unique in my own way and concentrate on improving myself and not being better than others,” said Shatha.
Shatha revealed that prominent UAE singer Ahlam has composed a song for her and she will include the song on her upcoming album, scheduled for release in the near future.
