The head of the Cairo International Film Festival, Sherif al Shobashi, announced that he made an agreement with the American film star Sharon Stone to be the event’s honorary guest, which will kick off on October 15.
The artistic office of the festival has made contacts with Stone’s business manager to set the date of her attendance at the festival, whether at the opening or the closing ceremony.
Shobashi met Stone in France during Cannes International Film Festival which was held recently, as she was a jury member.
However, the American actress has never visited Egypt before, and she is invited to attend the Egyptian event for the first time.
Shobashi told the London-based Arabic daily al Sharq al Awsat that he was going to invite a number of the world film stars. “Whenever I secure their approvals, I will disclose their names,” said the head of the festival – Albawaba.com
