After several rumors regarding renowned Egyptian actress Sharihan's death following critical surgery she underwent at the Pitie Salpetriere hospital in Paris last Tuesday, Sharihan's family has officially came out to deny the rumors.
“Our daughter is still in the ICU passing a critical stage after the 18-hour surgery. Doctors assured us that her state is stable, and that the surgery’s result would finally begin to show on Wednesday,” her family told the daily Bayan newspaper.
On the other hand, the medical consultant of the Egyptian embassy in Paris, Dr. Hani al Hindi, has also confirmed the stable state of Sharihan. Al Hindi told Asharq al Awsat newspaper that Sharihan has suffered from a tumor in her salivary gland, which medical analysis has shown to be a benign, adding that the success of the surgery is not clear yet.
The Egyptian embassy, for its part, has said that Sharihan got several phone calls during this week following the surgery from well known figures in Egypt, including Noor al Sherief, Nagla’ Fathi, Izzat al Alaili, Mohammed Subhi, Hussein Fahmi, Adel Imam, and Mamdouh al Laithi.
The daily Al Khabar newspaper reported Friday, quoting several unofficial sources that Sharihan died immediately following her surgery. – Albawaba.com
