Prominent Egyptian actress Sharihan traveled to Germany to undergo treatment for salivary gland Cancer. There doctors were able to control the spread of the cancerous tumors located in her jaw. After her release from the hospital, her doctors assured her that she will be able to return to her normal life, but with great precautions. Sharihan was treated in Egypt and Paris before making the trip to Germany.
During her medical treatment in Germany, Sharihan suffered major setbacks after hearing the tragic news of the death of prominent Egyptian actor Ahmad Zaki. Sharihan spent over a month in Germany undergoing different treatments, until finally doctors felt it was safe for her to return to Egypt.
Doctors in Egypt supervising her condition have advised Sharihan to return to Germany to continue her treatment, stressing that she will be given top medical care. Her doctors emphasized that she must recuperate before resuming her normal activities, so that she will not to suffer any further setbacks.
Sharihan must refrain from answering phone calls, except those from her only daughter and her husband. The actress is strictly forbidden from attending any public occasions and visitation is strictly prohibited.
Recently, director Ali Rajab attempted to convince Sharihan that her life story would make a great screenplay for movie, starting with her early beginnings as an actress until she was diagnosed with cancer. Rajab had even convinced a production company to finance the film, but all negotiations failed. Sharihan refused to agree to the idea saying that her life’s story is hers alone and she does not wish to expose it to the world.
Salivary gland Cancer is considered to be one of the rarest and most severe types of cancer, affecting one in every ten million people.
