The new Kuwaiti singer Shams recently released her new album Habib Al Ward (Roses Beloved), on which elite Gulf poets and composers collaborated, according to the Arabic daily Al Sharq Al Awsat.

The poets and composers are backing Shams and her ability to compete with her Gulf counterparts, in an attempt to provide a new and unique Gulf experience.

The first to turn his hand to the new effort was poet Mohammed Al Barahim, also known as Al Wafi, who wrote the song Weinak Habibi (Where Are You, Love?) which was composed by Musa Mohammed from the UAE and remade by Walid Fayed from Egypt.

The new album, released by the Saudi Renad Co. and supervised by the Saudi composer Ahmed Al Fahed, includes the songs Hatha Al Kalam written by Mishaal Dayer and composed by Khaled Al Brak; Habib Al Ward (Roses Beloved) written by Sami Al Jamaan and composed by Naser Al Saleh; Al Wajih Al Laymeh, written and composed by Khaled Abel Rahman; Khutheeha Maek (Take It With You), written by Ibrahim Al Janoubi and composed by Khaled Al Brak; Allah A’leik, written by Ahmed Bin Khaled Al Sabah and composed by Saleh Yaslam; and Inqata’at Akhbaroh (No News About Him), written by Sami Al Jamaan and composed by Ahmed Al Fahed - Albawaba.com
