Egyptian pop singer Shaaban Abdel Rehim has wrapped up recording a song about copyright and protection against piracy to mark the first singer in the world who sings about this topic, according to the Qatari daily Al Raya.

Abdel Rehim will add his new song written by a lawyer and composed by him in his known music style to his new album, which will hit the stores' shelves soon.

The lyrics begin with: “Copyright is a right for you and me… It has also protection and an international organization….Why should you steal the right of others by force?…It is a crime when somebody works hard and looses his right.“

It seems that the anticipated success of the song in addition to the Egyptian government call for the hackers to comply with the international laws have prompted the International Federation of the Computer Software Producers (BSI), headquartered in Washington, to entrust the Egyptian poet Antar Hilal with writing a song about copyright.

Meanwhile, the daily Al Hayat cited the representative of the Egyptian Union of Software Producers, Ghada Khalifa, as denying any links between the union and Abdel Rehim’s album despite the fact that his work is unprecedented. She justified the second album by saying that the union seeks to collaborate with the Egyptian government in fighting hacking at all levels and maintaining the country’s last year achievements in the field of computer programming -- Albawaba.com
