Anne Hathaway may have received her most flattering compliment yet.

The 32-year-old actress was recently compared to the most talked about newcomer, Amal Clooney, by Extra co-host Tracey Edmonds, 47, during an interview while promoting new film Song One.

On her resemblance to the 36-year-old British barrister, the Academy Award winner enthusiastically reacted and said: 'I've never heard that, that's the best thing!'

'You do bare a resemblance to the striking Amal Clooney, has anyone ever told you that?' Tracey asked Anne.

'I've never heard that but thank you,' the Les Miserables star humbly responded. 'That's so going to be the best thing that happens to me today.'

Adding: 'I hope that one day I become half the woman she is, she's so accomplished and it's so thrilling to look at someone and say "Wow you really are making the world a better place."'

Although that was the first time Anne had heard the comparison herself, many Twitter fans had already commented on the resemblance between her and the wife of George Clooney.

@Shamandy tweeted: 'George Clooney is getting married to Amal Alamuddin, The Arabian version of Anne Hathaway!'

@KotexLB also noted the similar looks writing: '#AmalAlamuddin and #AnneHathaway really look alike! Can you tell which is which?'

And @UpadhyayPri referred to Anne's unfavorable reception in Hollywood saying: 'Mom thinks #AmalAlamuddin looks like #AnneHathaway #JustInCaseYouNeededAReasonToDislikeAmal.'

Aside from being likened to her 'Hollywood twin,' Anne is producing and starring in the upcoming film Song One.

She and husband Adam Schulman collaborated for the first producing project together about a woman (Hathaway) who discovers her brother's music after he gets in a life altering car accident.

'We both worked so hard on this, but it's whatever when it's you, but when it's someone you care about as much as your husband, I'm just so proud of him.'

Anne married her actor beay in September 2012 after dating for close to four years and being engaged for one year.

Song One hits US theaters on January 23.
