ALBAWABA - “Jurassic World Rebirth" stars Scarlett Johansson, Jonathan Bailey, and Mahershala Ali. The first look was released by Universal.
David Koepp wrote the first "Jurassic Park" and published it in 1993. Gareth Edwards ("Rogue One: A Star Wars Story," "The Creator") is directing the film.
An official synopsis of the film states that it will take place five years after "Jurassic World Dominion," at a time when "the planet’s ecology has proven largely inhospitable to dinosaurs."
"Those that have survived live in secluded tropical regions with weather patterns that are very similar to their former habitat," the summary goes on to say.
"The secret to a medicine that will bring extraordinary, life-saving advantages to humans lies with the three largest creatures in that tropical biosphere."
The production company also dropped hints on a slew of in-film characters. Zora Bennett, played by Scarlett Johansson, is a clandestine operations specialist whose job it is to oversee the collection of DNA from the three largest extant dinosaur species.
Ali portrays Duncan Kincaid, Zora's business partner; Bailey plays paleontologist Dr. Henry Loomis; and Rupert Friend ("Homeland"), spokesman for the pharmaceutical company that is funding the expedition, plays Martin Krebs.
Luna Blaise ("Manifest"), David Iacono ("The Summer I Turned Pretty"), and Audrina Miranda ("Lopez vs. Lopez"), among others, portray members of the shipwrecked family, including Manuel Garcia-Rulfo ("The Lincoln Lawyer").
The film's producers are Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, while the executive producers are Jim Spencer, Denis L. Stewart, and Steven Spielberg.
"Jurassic World Rebirth" will open to the public on July 2, 2025.
