ALBAWABA - Every year The Cannes Film Festival welcomes stars and artists worldwide. Saudi Arabia is no different in 2024 with adding diversity and charm to the city of the countryside and sea, Cannes.
Today we will be looking at Saudi Arabia's most prominent women who attended the 2024 Cannes Film Festival on its first day including Journalist Jumana Al-Rashid and blogger Khawla Al-Shaiban who appeared in a dress designed by Saudi Arabia Farah Al-Mesbah from the Fall and Winter 2024 haute couture collection.
Saudi women steal the spotlight at Cannes Film Festival 2024
Jumana Al-Rashid appeared at the festival with a sleek dark blue dress by German English brand Alexander McQueen and designed by designer and former creative director Sarah Burton who worked at the company for 13 years.
Her most notable work was designing a dress for the Princess of Wales Catherine Middleton for her wedding to Prince William in 2011. Added to the dress was a group of embroideries that decorated the upper part, complementing her handbag and feminine cut slightly above the elbows.
Jumana is the CEO of the Saudi Research and Media Group and she is the first woman to hold this position since its founding in 1972. Moreover, Forbes added her to the 100 most powerful businesswomen in the Middle East in 2023.

Moreover, the famous Saudi blogger, Khawla Al-Shaiban, appeared in an exceptional dress designed by Saudi fashion designer Farah Al-Misbah from the Fall and Winter 2024 high fashion collection.
She appeared radiant in a design that combined feminine organza and chiffon with jacquard, which makes up the seashell-like corset and body. The dress incorporated blue, pink, and white into its color palette making it one of the most unique dresses at the festival.
