After the continuous delay of Moroccan singer Samira Said's album, the singer announced that she will finally release it on November 2, 2004, under the production of Alam El Phan. The Lebanese radio station the Voice of Tomorrow has already begun broadcasting Samira's song "Kawini" (Make Me Strong) exclusively as a way of promoting for the album.
According to the London based Elaph, Samira has completed shooting the main song of the album "Ma Khalas" (It's Over) and plans on releasing it with the launch of the album.
In the past couple of months Samira had been encountering several problems within her line of work, but has managed to resolve matters and overcome all obstacles in her way. The singer had been having disputes with Egyptian singer Amr Diab over the song “Laili Nahari”, which was the main hit of Amr’s latest album.
The problem occurred due to the fact that the song was supposed to be sung by Samira and not Amr. Samira refused to give details regarding her problem with Amr and simply said the matter has been resolved and there are many new songs that are just waiting for people to sing them. She added that she will not allow such problems to interfere with her life and career.
Samira has recently returned from Barcelona Spain, where she filmed a new music video under the direction of British director Greg Miswak. The singer revealed that the idea in her new music video has not been done before and will surely find satisfaction among her fans.
Another problem Samira was faced with was when she decided not to work with Egyptian director Sharif Sabri and taking back her song “Ma Khalas” (Its Over), after all the commotion he had created by directing inappropriate seductive video clips for Egyptian singer Ruby. Close contacts to Samira warned her that by working with Sharif she would jeopardize the success of the song and even her career.
It was added that since Sharif specializes in making seductive video clips where the singer is wearing very revealing outfits and is dancing the entire time, Samira did not want to be labeled among such singer, especially after all the success she has so far witnessed in her career. –Albawaba.com
