Egyptian folk singer Saed Al Sughair has refused to costar in a new film with Egyptian belly dancer Dina, whom he had previously starred with in the film “Alia Al Tarab Bil Talata”. Dina and Saed had encountered disputes with one another over numerous matters that were left unresolved.
According to the Qatar based daily, Al Raya, Saed has vowed to never work with Dina again in any film, but at the same time has agreed to play in a film by the same production company, Al Sabki Production, that produced his first film in order not angry the company that was behind his cinematic success.
The production company Al Sabki will be producing the new film for Dina, and the dancer had nominated folk singer Imad Ba’rour, who is considered Saed’s rivalry, but the company refused his nomination.
One of the disputes that had erupted between Dina and Saed was over the fact that both were placed under investigation by the Egyptian Actors Union due to accusation of Dina dancing in the streets and causing chaos to break out.
The Egyptian Actor’s Association has questioned Dina for dancing in the streets at the premier of her new film “Alia Al Tarab Biltalata,” which she starred in with Saed.
The head of the Union claimed the inquiry was prompted by photographs of her dancing in an inappropriate manner in the street in front of the theatre, resulting in chaos. The Union had asserted that this type of pubic display creates a bad image of actors and is an inappropriate way to promote a film.
Dina denied dancing in the streets and that she was even present at the first screening of the film, asserting that she did attend the second day of the film’s screening, but did not dance in the streets. She merely stood in front of the theater to greet moviegoers and fans, said Dina.
After investigating the matter further, the judiciary department at the Union released a verdict in the dancer’s favor claiming that she is not guilty of any misdemeanor and she is no longer placed under any investigation.
Recently Al Sughair’s popularity soared after his US tour, capturing the hearts of his American fans, although his stroke of good luck may have ended.
