The countdown for the famous Carthage Festival has finally begun. Tunisian people are anxiously waiting for this festival with great desire to see performances by famous singers and artists. The festival will start on July 14th and end on Aug. 16th of 2007.
There will be many different Tunisian performances; because a decision was made that 60% out of all the performances should be for Tunisian artist. Three famous Tunisian faces will be present at the festival Saber El Ribaee, Sophie Sadiq and Latifa AL Irfawi. In addition, Moroccan singer Jad AL Malih will be performing on July 31st.
The opening and the closing performances of the festival will be managed this year by Muhammad Raja Farahat. The opening will include Tunisian cultural folklore; however, the closing will be set to award famous faces in the music business and those who made the festival possible.
According to the London Daily Elaph, this year will mark fifty years for the making of Tunisia as the republic of Tunisia. On July 25th a live concert by
many famous faces will be present there. Singer like Lutfi Bushnaq, Sunia Mubarak, Shukri Bozian, Sophie Sadiq, Laila Hajij, Dirsaf Al Hamdani and Rihab Al Sagir will be singer and performing at the festival.
