Lebanese singer Elain Khalaf has been away from the spotlight for sometime without any recent performances or appearances due to rumors circulating about her secret divorce. In response to these rumors the singer denied all allegations stating they hold no truth to them.
According to the London based daily, Al Sharq Al Awsat, Elaine said, “when the time is right for me to get married I will publicize the news for everyone to know. At this point marriage is not one of my priorities and the thought of getting married secretly never crossed my mind, as it is against my ethical beliefs.” The singer did admit to being involved in a spicy love relationship but it has not reached the point of marriage.
The daily reported that the singer did not know that these rumors arose as a result of her absence from the scenes. The reason behind her hiding away is simply so for preparation of her upcoming release which is taking up all her time. She added, “My absence rose for the rumor of my secret marriage, and different other lies that hold no truth to them, but I am glad in some way that people have noticed my absence meaning that they miss me!”
It was also noted that for the first time throughout her career she did not perform any concerts during the holiday season and decided to take the year 2003 off as a time to relax and spend it with her family. In turn she plans to take a vacation around Europe to Italy, Spain and France. She told the daily, “it saddens me to be away from my fans, but this is a decision I have made and I will not change my mind.” –Albawaba.com
