Rula Hamadeh does not see any reason why she shouldn’t turn from drama to comedy as she posses flexibility and acting love that qualify her for any role offered to her and she sees suitable.

“I play the role as a widow who lives with her three sons and mother under one roof and possesses a political magazine which does not receive any financial support from any side, the fact that puts it in financial hardship. This is particularly in view of the fact that she wants to express her viewpoint and not the others point of view. The widow gets aquatinted to a man and her relation with him becomes contentious from the first moment,” Rula told the daily al Nahar responding to a question on her comedy program Familia.

She added, “I play in Familia the role as the merry mother who creates a new method in behavior and education that combines between the old and new. In fact I want to play roles that depict the woman’s situation at all the stages of her life under different circumstances. But unfortunately writers do not shed light on these topics as if all the woman’s problems disappear after the age of 25 and her life comes to a halt.”

Rula expressed her admiration of Muna Taea’s script because, as she says, her writing and comedy style is top and free of triviality.

The series depicts the life of the Lebanese family with all its dimensions including bringing children up and their school and university education. It attempts to find solutions for major problems in a smooth style accompanied with a smile. This program reminds us with the American comedy series Cosby Show which presented problems whatever big in a funny and lovely style -- Albawaba.com
