Poet Turkey Bin Abdul Rahman Al Sidari filed a lawsuit against record company Rotana for distributing two songs, “Ya Ghaib” (Away) and (Dihkit El Dunia” (A World’s Smile) sung by Lebanese singe Fadel Shaker, written by him without buying their copyrights. The two songs produced by Rotana have accomplished great success for Fadel taking him to the top of the music charts in the Arab world.
According to the Saudi based daily, Al Riyadh, Turkey was in shock when Rotana produced the songs for the singer without any prior agreement to buy the rights to. The poet demands one million Saudi Riyals in compensation from Rotana for neglecting to include his name in the album as the writer of the songs and distributing them without his knowledge.
