Director Sherif Sabri revealed that Egyptian singer Ruby’s first public appearance might be on Rotana satellite music channel. Famous announcer Hala Sarhan in one of her shows, either “Gana el-hawa or Hala Show”, will present ruby.

Sabri had criticized all critics who wrote that his latest movie was not successful and did not achieve important profits, considering this as part of the attack waged on him and Ruby. Sherif had previously allowed the stars of his movies to talk to the media after being prohibited for 12 months while filming the movie.

According to the London based, Elaph, it was revealed that previous negotiations took place between Hala Sarhan and Sabri to invite Ruby to one of Hala's shows but all attempts were not successful. The reason behind the failure was terms which Sabri set, stating that he wanted to read all the questions beforehand.

Sharif has always been overprotective of letting Ruby appear in interviews or even make any public announcements regarding her career to the press. Sharif revealed that the secrecy method he has been following with Ruby of not having her appear in any interviews in the past two years is the same method stars in the west follow, stressing that this simple secrecy or being away from the media is what adds great value to a singer.

Meanwhile, Sherif Sabri is doing his contacts now to try to distribute the movie outside Egypt but he fears that the critics' huddle might affect this process.

Contrary to all expectations, Ruby's first film debut proved to be a big failure ranking in last place among all summer films. The film, which is directed by Sharif, hardly made any profits unlike the two films "Tito", by Ahmad Al Saqqa, which ranked in the number one spot and "Khalti Faranca" for Muna Zaki ranking in second place.

Ruby's new movie [Saba3 Wara'at Kotcheena] (Seven Playing Cards) was screened without any special screening to critics and media. Cinema houses owners revealed that the film did not make its expected profits with six screening in one cinema reached only 1450 EGP and four screening in another reached only 900 EGP. It was added that only teenage males were witnessed going to see the film, due to their infatuation with Ruby, who is considered to be one of the most seductive singers.

Some audience revealed that after they watched the film, they regretted buying the tickets stressing it was a total waste of time. It was stated that the film held no significant meaning and was simply a silly one that is not worth watching. –Albawaba.com
