Another day, another rapper brings his swagger to Dubai

American rapper Rick Ross is the latest to add his name to a growing list of high profile performers as the winter festive season kicks off in the UAE. The hitmaker, whose fifth album, God Forgives, I Don’t, debuted at Number 1 on the US Billboard 200 charts, will perform this weekend at the re-opening of Nasimi Beach at Atlantis, The Palm.

Ross made the announcement himself on Twitter on Sunday tweeting: “Who wanna come to Dubai w/ me Sept. 21 got two Xtra jet seats !!! #GoldParty.”

Tickets, Dh250 (regular), Dh420 (VIP) and Dh850 (Vip + meet & greet), are now on sale on rickrossdubai.com.

Ross’ appearance will kick off a slew of concerts including Sandance on October 12 featuring singer Matt Kearney, US piano rock band The Fray, English singer and rapper Example and American record producer Frankie Knuckles.

Classical crossover group Il Divo eturn to the UAE on October 5 in Dubai while Spanish singing heartthrob Enrique has another date with Dubai on October 26. Aussie pop star Kylie Minogue, Canadian rockers Nikelback and rapper Eminem will perform on the sidelines of the Abu Dhabi F1 on November 2, 3 and 4 respectively and on November 22, Jennifer Lopez will take to the Dubai Media City stage for her sold-out gig and Dance Again World Tour, followed by Australian Gotye the next night at Dubai World Trade Centre.
