So now Nour el Sherif has lung cancer? According to recent reports, that's what's been keeping the Egyptian actor in and out of hospital for the past year and a half.
The ailing star returned to Egypt from a medical trip to the US on Sunday evening, where he was met by three ambulances, one of which transported him to a Cairo hospital for three nights.
While we know that Sherif is suffering from a severe lack of blood flow to his legs, some are claiming that he's been diagnosed with lung cancer, especially that last year the 68-year-old took a trip to London to treat excess water in his lungs.
However, Egyptian actor Sameh Al Surayti, acting head of the Egyptian Actors' Syndicate dismissed the cancer scare, insisting that Nour's health is gradually getting better.
According to Laha magazine, Sameh said, "I wish that those creating false rumors about the great actor Nour el Sherif would give him a break. For anyone who has evidence contradicting what I'm saying about Nour's health should come out and show us.
"The rumors being circulated about the actor's medical condition, and statements made on behalf of those close to him are considered an insult to Nour and should not be said about such a great actor, who has personally announced the details of his illness to the public. If he was diagnosed with an illness, trust me, he has all the courage to come out and announce it."
