Barasti is set to go Britpop on Friday, November 21, as Republica take to the stage.

The band formed in 1994, and went on to release two huge hits from their 1996 self-titled debut album.

The anthemic Ready to Go went on to be licensed worldwide - featuring in everything from a Dairy Queen commercial to the home games of baseball team the Boston Red Sox to TV shows including Baywatch and Sabrina, the Teenage Witch.

Their other major single, Drop Dead Gorgeous, was included on the soundtrack to horror movie Scream, with the film’s director Wes Craven inviting the band to perform at its Hollywood premiere.

The group split in 2001 after problems with their record company, and reformed in 2008. Last year, they released the Christiana Obey EP.

Outside of Republica, frontwoman Saffron has worked with the likes of The Cure, Chesney Hawkes and The Prodigy, while keyboardist Andy Todd co-wrote Reach for S Club 7.

The band’s Barasti show is free, so pop along if you’re in the mood for some ‘90s-style shenanigans.
