MBC2 presenter, Razan al Moughrabi is currently preparing to head off to Africa to be part of a campaign for fighting aids along with British TV announcer Christina Di Oliviera. The singer is scheduled to travel to Africa in August and will be visiting a number of countries that are mostly affected by the deadly virus.
According to several news sources, after her mission in Africa is complete, she will head back to London where she will be presented with a humanitarian award along with a number of prominent international figures. At the award ceremony, it was revealed that former African president Nelson Mandela, international model Naomi Campbell, and American singer Madonna will be present.
The presenter is also in the process of preparing for a new music album, which she hopes to release in the very near future. It was added that Razan is also working on a new TV show to be aired on MBC satellite television under the title “Samani Kalam” (Talk To Me), in which she will combine two different singers one from the East and another from the West.
Recently, Razan has regretfully announced that she has pulled out of the Egyptian film “Halit Hub" (A Dose of Love) due to the fact that she was unable to get a vacation from her previously scheduled television work. Razan was to begin shooting the scenes for the new film alongside Egyptian actors Hani Salama, Sharif Ramzi, and singer Tamer Husni.
The director of the film Saed Hindawi has already begun to look for a replacement to fill Razan’s place. The film's story is by Tamer, and deals with a social dilemma of a family that is separated due to divorce and the two sons are divided between the parents and live apart for a period of twenty years. When the family is united after such a long time, a culture clash occurs between the brothers due to their living in different environments and disputes occur when the two fall in love with the same girl, was previously to be played by Razan. The film deals with a critical issue that has become a common problem among Egyptian families today.
Razan, holds a degree in Communication Arts from LAU in Lebanon, and joined MBC seven years ago after a successful three and a half years career at the Lebanese Future TV. On MBC, she is well known for her most popular western variety program, ‘Pops and Tops’. - Albawaba.com
