Local and Satellite Arab television stations have all carefully selected the programs they will be airing this Ramadan. There will be strong competition between all stations as to who receives the most viewers during the holy month that has begun in most of the Islamic world on November 6.
A variety of shows from drama, comedy, history, and religion will conquer the screens of all homes. Some of the most noted actors will take up new roles and appear like we never seen them before, to prove to their viewers their talents in acting. Additionally a number of TV series are expected to make a lot of noise among viewers all over the world.
"Fares Bila Jawad" (Knight Without a Horse), aired despite fierce Israeli opposition to the story tackled in the series, will open the curtains for the Ramadan show of best television series.
The Egyptian TV adapted the book, “Producers of the Elders of Zion” into a series entitled "Fares Bila Jawad" with the participation of 200 actors and actresses. Among the issues to be tackled in the series is the Zionist conspiracy to establish a Jewish state that extends from the Nile River in Egypt till the Euphrates in Iraq. Over the past several weeks, there has been countless demonstrations and protests against the airing of this series in US and European capitals and cities.
The Egyptian star Mohammed Subhi takes the leading role in the 30-episode series and plays nine different characters, which depict Egyptian historical, social and political profiles since the Danshuwai incident in 1906.
The series, written by Mohammed Subhi and Mohammed Baghdadi, and directed by Ahmed Badriddin, also stars Egyptian Simon, Hanaa al Shorbagi, Gamil Rateb, Ashraf Abdel Ghafour, Khalil Murcy and Randa as well as other actors from Syria and Lebanon.
Noor Al Sherif meets again with screenwriter Mustafa Moharram and director Mohammed al Naqli in the new series “Al Attar wa al Sabe’ Banat” (The Spice Trader and the Seven Girls), in which he plays two different characters. Playing the character of the father ‘Al Hag Saleh’ and the son ‘Abdul Rahman’, who carries the profession of spice trading after his father’s death. Al Sherif will be delivering a new vision about family life amid the cultural and social changes over the years.
The series, which will detail a new style of film shooting, stars many talents like: Majda Zaki, Sawsan Badr, Sumaya al Alfi, Hala Fakher, Emad Rashad, Rania Fareed Shawki and many others.
After the huge success of his last TV series “A’elat Al Hag Mitwalli” (Mitwalli’s Family), Al Sherif will attempt to capture television viewers once again as he did last Ramadan, according to Al Akhbar newspaper.
Yusra stars as a single mother of two in the new TV series “A’yna Qalbi” (Where is my Heart). The story is about an architect, Yusra, whose loyalty to her profession causes her many problems as she discovers mistakes in most of building foundations she is working in. Yusra will have to face many enemies and struggles to overcome all obstacles to ensure security for her children.
Yahia Al Fakhrani moves away from the dramatic scenes this year to star in the comedy “Juha Almasri” (The Egyptian Juha). The comedy revolves around a series of events that occur between the common man and those men of power.
Ramadan viewers have a long line-up of TV series that are due to occupy their time fully. Each television channel has chosen a certain batch in which it believes will bring the most viewers.
