Lebanese superstar Ragheb Alama was recently a guest on the popular radio station Sawt Lebanon (The Voice of Lebanon), featuring on a show hosted by Nisreen Thawanhrah. In an intimate interview, Ragheb talked about about his childhood dream to sing in front of his classmates and how that encouraged him to become an icon in the entertainment world.
Ragheb was coy when talking about his childhood, saying he could recall little, other than his was from an ordinary family, and that he had dreams and ambitions like every other kids.
In the wide-ranging interview, Ragheb discussed his meteoric rise to fame and how he feels there are mafias trying to control people, making them work with each channel, and them alone. Adding that he was the first artist that didn’t sign an exclusive deal with a production company.
During his appearance on the show, it became clear that his children mean a lot to the star, trying to raise them so that they are respectful members of the community. Touchingly, Ragheb said that he lived his life through his children as he did not grow up as privileged as they do as his family had to contend with a low income and the war.
The show also managed to gain an exclusive from Ragheb, who admitted that he has had Botox on his face and women always complement him on his good looks. Adding that he sees no problem with having the treatment, if it is used to reconstruct someone’s face.
In the final part of the interview, Ragheb discuseed the release of his new fragrance, which he has personally selected and been involved with the production and design throughout to make a product that would send out the message that he want, although tellingly, he did not reveal what this message is.
