Lebanese singer Ragheb Alama has announced that his favorite sport is scuba diving and considers it his number one hobby, which he like to do as often as possible. On his last visit to Egypt, Ragheb made it a point to go to the Hurghada where some of the world’s most beautiful coral are found and went scuba diving.
The singer had put on his scuba diving sea and went in the Red Sea to explore some of the greatest wonders of nature taking a long time under the water a matter which caused the people he was with to worry fearing that something may have went wrong. The moment Ragheb came out of the water he realized the fear on his friend’s faces and said smiling “why are you worried, don’t you know that I am an expert scuba diver?” Ragheb revealed that he is seriously thinking of benefiting from his scuba diving technique and plans on making a new music video which involves underwater scenery.
Alama has for the past 20 years of his life given all he has to his singing career and proved that he is capable of remaining on top regardless of the enormous number of new singers appearing on the scenes. The singer has contributed so much to his career and up to this day remains adamant on always presenting the best songs written and composed by some of the most prominent poets and composers.
Ragheb has stressed in a personal interview that he always strives to improve himself and always present what his audience wants. He stated that he has come to learn that in order to make it in the music industry one must live by the old saying "Survival of Fittest", or else a singer will not succeed. Ragheb added that with the increase in competition these days, one must be smart on what he offers to his/her fans, making sure that what is being presented will go through to people's hearts.
Alama recently traveled to Cairo-Egypt to finalize details on a new apartment he bought in Al Zamalek. The singer had at first sold his old apartment which overlooked the Nile River, and decided to go for a fancier one in one of Egypt’s most prestigious areas. Ragheb’s trip to Cairo lasted for only 48 hours; in order to head back to Lebanon to resume previously scheduled events.
Earlier last month, Alama was in Italy after receiving a special invitation from the Italian TV station RAI-UNO to take part in the Italian Festival Del Moda E La Muzica (Music and Fashion Festival). The singer sang a number of his latest hits like "Tab Leah" (But Why), which found a huge success around most of Europe.
Ragheb was noted to be the only Arab singer to ever take part in the festival, in addition to being the only one ever hosted on an Italian television station. The episode that featured Ragheb was aired on the June 17, 2003, and through it the singer received many calls from listeners congratulating him for the success he achieved at the festival. –Albawaba.com
