The late Sabah wanted everyone to celebrate her death; to cheer instead of shed tears over her loss; Lebanese singers Waleed Tawfiq and Ragheb Alama complied.
However, Lebanese journalist Pedro Ghanem totally missed the point when he publicly criticised Alama for allegedly taking a selfie at Sabah's funeral last month.
But Alama was having none of it! The star quickly defended himself against the false news by pointing out that Waleed was the one who took the infamous selfie.
The singer took to Twitter where he posted a series of upset tweets over the incident.
In his first disgruntled tweet, Alama said, "Good morning. I don't know why some people deliberately spread rumors that are extremely ridiculous. What do they get out of making up news about a selfie and its silliness!!!"
"Meanwhile others spread rumors about disagreements between friends and use their imagination to make the story bigger than it really is; that's lower than for us to have to reply to," Alama continued.
He then went on to say, "God bless Sabah's soul, who's asked everyone to sing and dance at her funeral, only to have one cunning person focus on a selfie that a friend of mine took for memory."
"It's funny how some consider themselves to be understanding and with etiquette!!! We've come to accept some people's mistakes and we rise above them."
He finally concluded with, "I don't know who wrote and promoted this piece of silly news, but what I know for sure is that it's extremely ridiculous."
Soon after, Ghanem tweeted a public apology to the superstar, saying, "I apologise to the star Ragheb Alama. What I published yesterday was based on the wrong information and it turns out that it wasn't Ragheb who was taking the pictures."
Alama retweeted Ghanem's apology to his 2.93 million followers.
In other news, Ragheb will be welcoming the New Year in a lively concert at Cairo's Intercontinental City Stars Hotel on December 31.
