Recently, it was revealed that a photograph of Egyptian actress Raghda was found in the office of former Iraqi president Saddam Hussein, among his personal belongings. Raghda commented that due to the fact that she is a very well-known actress, it is natural to find her pictures everywhere and especially in possession of male fans, reported the Saudi based Al Watan.

The actress added that she does not deny meeting Saddam personally during her many visits to Iraq during its ten-year sanctions. Raghda said that she had undergone many charitable events for Iraq to help the needy.

Raghda recently produced a film that portrays the sufferings of the Iraqi children and the aftermath of the US-led war. The film begins with the theme of Christmas and panoramic scenes of Baghdad going into one of the churches with a story told by an actual priest.

The leading role of the film was given to a young boy who witnesses the death of thousands of Iraqi children since the 1991 Gulf War up to today. The film was translated into English and was aired on several western stations. The goal is to educate the world with the hazardous outcomes of war and how the damage caused is eternal on the people who survive it.

Raghda had been traveling to Iraq constantly in the past period to become more acquainted with the people and listen to their side of the story on how war has basically destroyed their lives.

On a different note, last year Raghda starred in a radio series called ‘Jarat al Qamar’ (Neighbor of the Moon) portraying the life of the prominent Lebanese singer - Fairouz. The series is produced in cooperation with Mohammad Wafiq, Abdul Rahman Abu Zahra, writer Mahmoud Qasim, and is directed by Issam Al Iraqi. –Albawaba.com
