Director Ismail Abdel Hafez will soon begin shooting the outdoor scenes of the TV series Al Barr Al Gharbi (Western Land), written by Mohammed Jalal Abdel Qawi and costarring Farouk Al Fishawi, Raghda, Abla Kamel, Ezzat Abu Auf and Sanaa Jamil, according to the daily Al Ahram.
To prepare herself for the role of Lord Allenby’s niece, Raghda is honing her horseback riding skills in the city of Nazlat Assaman.
Raghda was once an ace at this pastime, calling it her favorite sport, but her last days of horsing around were six years ago.
A set resembling parts of Nazlat Assaman, where the scenes will be shot, is currently being designed at the Information Production City. The first outdoor scenes will be shot near the Pyramids.
The series consists of 27 episodes and explores a love story between an English girl and a young Egyptian translator who lives in Nazlat Assaman. Despite the marriage of the young man to one of his relatives, his relationship with the English girl is still intimate. But when it comes to patriotism, which requires putting an end to this relationship, he sacrifices his passions and chooses loyalty to his homeland and the society in which he was raised – Albawaba.com
