The administration committee of the International Arts Festival in Tunisia held a special cultural night for Egyptian actress Raghda, in which she recited a poem she wrote in honor of the late prominent Egyptian actor Ahmad Zaki. During the ceremony, Raghda talked about her journey in the acting world and the most important highlights of it like her success in producing two films about children in Palestine and Iraq.
According to the Egyptian based daily, Al Ahram, the audience at the ceremony requested that the actress recite her personal poem “Ahmad Zaki won the bet”, which she wrote to express her deep feelings for the late actor and talks about his achievements and influence.
Before the passing away of Ahmad, a shocking rumor surfaced regarding the nature of his relationship with Raghda. The new rumor, which is based on speculations and intangible proof, states that a marriage existed between the two.
One of the bases of the rumor was the constant presence of Raghda by Ahmad’s side since he became ill and the power of who to allow to see the actor at the time visitors were permitted. Raghda’s attitude at the hospital proved there is a strong bond that connects he with Ahmad, especially taking into account that Ahmad had always preferred women who had blonde hair and blue eyes making Raghda the perfect candidate for such an alleged marriage.
Ahmad’s cousin, Sameer Abdul Min’em who was by the side of the actor the entire time, stressed that no such marriage exists between Ahmad and Raghda, and described Raghda as a very close of Ahmad’s and nothing more. Sameer added that Ahmad held very high respect for Raghda.
Raghda expressed extreme anger and outrage towards rumors that say the only reason she stood by the side of Ahmad through his ordeal was a greedy selfish one. The actress stressed that her only intention behind supporting Ahmad throughout his illness had no materialistic motive to it.
