Britain’s late ‘People’s Princess’ Diana’s favorite wedding present, which disappeared after her death, was stolen by her butler, police said.

According to the British cops, on November 14th, they busted Di’s former butler Harold Brown, 48, on suspicion of stealing the missing gift, a gem-encrusted model Arab ship called a ‘Dow,’ in solid gold and silver, from the Emir of Bahrain, reported The National Enquirer

The gift, worth $1.5 million, was discovered by a Scotland Yard fraud squad last week just before it was to go on sale at a London art dealer.

The Dow was missing from Di's apartment at Kensington Palace when an inventory was taken after she died, said an insider.

"Some experts believe as much as 10 percent of her property went missing after her death."

In the days after Diana’s death, "royal staff were racked with grief and nobody knew if they were coming or going," a source disclosed.

Police suspect that in the confusion, Brown who had access to the princess’s apartment made off with the boat and other valuables.

Members of the royal family were shocked when Brown was arrested, said the insider.

"He's been a trusted, loyal servant for nearly 20 years and now serves as Princess Margaret's butler.

"They refuse to believe he had anything to do with this. In fact, just hours after Brown was released on bail he was by Princess Margaret's side at an official dinner in London." – Albawaba.com.
