ALBAWABA - Prince Harry opens up about family estrangement, safety fears, and regrets.

After losing a legal battle over his security, Prince Harry's candid television interview has once again exposed the divide between him and his family.

The 40-year-old prince rehashed his complaints against the royal family, the British government, and the media during a lengthy and occasionally tearful talk, saying he wants reconciliation.

Harry claimed that because of "this security stuff," a legal dispute over the prince's safety while in Britain, his father, King Charles III, won't talk to him.

“This, at the heart of it, is a family dispute,” he said.

Since he and his wife Meghan left royal duties in 2020 and relocated to the United States, claiming racism and hostility from the media and royal establishment, Harry has been cut off from his family. Harry's candid 2023 book "Spare," filled with unpleasant admissions and personal information, exacerbated the situation.

However, Harry claimed that the decision to revoke his police protection detail once he ceased to be a working royal is currently causing the relationship to deteriorate. Harry's attempt to reinstate the protection was denied by the London Court of Appeal on Friday, which stated that a government committee had good reason to determine that security should be evaluated individually each time Harry travels to the United Kingdom.

Harry placed the blame on the palace, claiming that royal officials, who are on the committee with government and police representatives, had ordered the decision to remove his security. "Knowingly putting me and my family in danger," he added, in the hopes that the threat "would force us to come back."

He implied that his father was part of the problem by saying he asked the king to "step aside and let the experts do their job."

For over a year, King Charles, 76, has been receiving treatment for an unidentified malignancy. The king's cancer kind has not been revealed by Buckingham Palace, which has provided little information.

"I don't know how much longer my father has," Harry, who has only had one brief encounter with him since his diagnosis early last year, said.

He didn't think they would meet again anytime soon.

“The only time I come back to the U.K. is, sadly, for funerals or court cases,” he said.

Charles has resumed his full range of public responsibilities following a few months off last year. He described receiving a diagnosis as "a daunting and at times frightening experience" at a reception for a cancer charity this week. He added, "I can attest that it can also be an experience that sharply focuses on the best aspects of humanity."

Concerns about Harry and his family's safety are legitimate.

After his brother William and his three children, he is fifth in line for the throne. He served two tours of duty in Afghanistan throughout his ten years in the British army. In court documents, Harry's attorney claimed that al-Qaida had released a document claiming that Muslims would be pleased if Harry was killed.

According to Harry, he and his late grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, were in the highest category of at-risk royals prior to 2020.

Private security is now his sole choice after he was denied access to taxpayer-funded police protection and denied authorization to pay for it himself.

He asserted that "people who leave public office," such as former prime ministers, receive superior police security for life.

He declared, "I can never leave the royal family." “I was born into those risks, and they’ve only increased over time.”

"Some individuals desire for history to recur," he uttered, ostensibly referencing the demise of his mother, Princess Diana. Paparazzi were following her when she died in a car accident in Paris in 1997.

Harry claimed he "can't see a world in which I would be bringing my wife and children back to the U.K." Harry, Meghan, and their three-year-old daughter Lilibet and five-year-old son Archie presently reside in California.

"It's really sorrowful that I won't be able to show my children my homeland," the prince added, adding that he loved Britain.

Harry stated that due to the hatred directed at him and Meghan on social media and the constant harassment from the news media, he and his family are in danger when they travel to Britain.

Harry hopes to get back together with his family, but that might not happen right away.

Charles, Harry's stepmother Queen Camilla, and his older brother William were all the targets of resentment and anger in Harry's incendiary memoir "Spare."

He claimed during the interview that he could forgive his family as well as the British press, which he despises and has sued on several occasions.

"I would adore getting back together with my family. There's no need to fight anymore, Harry declared.
