Spice Girl Victoria Beckham and actress Elizabeth Hurley are being wooed to appear on Friends this season, according to British tabloids.
It may be a move to add more babes to the still-top-rated NBC sitcom; after all, over on CBS, those new female Survivors are prettier and younger this time around, which may siphon off even more viewers as the two shows go head to head.
Beckham, (a k a Posh Spice), is reportedly in talks to play a European heiress who meets Joey, Matt Le Blanc, online and then flies to New York to meet him. Beckham's name was one of the many tossed about as a possible Charlie's Angel.
The Hurley angle would apparently come from Matthew Perry, who is currently filming the romantic comedy Servicing Sarah with the Estée Lauder model.
Perry earlier roped his The Whole Nine Yards co-star Bruce Willis into guest-starring on the show, which ended up being a good move for Willis; the actor received an Emmy for his work on the series.
Those British papers may be jumping the gun, though. Officially, neither Hurley nor Beckham is on the guest-star slate.
"We would love to have Elizabeth Hurley on an episode of Friends, but right now, there's nothing planned," a representative for Warner Bros., the studio that produces the show, told the New York Post Wednesday. The rep added that a Beckham appearance is also not yet planned.
One star who is confirmed to guest-star this season is Susan Sarandon, according to Entertainment Weekly. Since the Oscar-winning actress got her start in soaps, it makes sense that she'll appear as a small-screen diva opposite soap actor Joey. – Albawaba.com.
