The children of Palestine can now look forward to something other than fear, loathing and stone throwing.

Each night for a while now these children have been able to walk into a theater and completely forget about their painful reality and the Israeli attacks.

Organizers all over Palestine have been making it a point to show different kid’s films and plays throughout Palestinian territories in order to lessen the burdens of war on these children.

Beit Sahour’s Cinatech theater is only one of those theatrical complexes where children can be children and sit down for a fun play such as the now showing Al Samaka Al Thahabiah (The Golden Fish).

According to the chairman of Cinatech, George Ibrahim, this move was made because he, among others, believes that “Palestinian children should be able to live a natural life, just like all the other children of the world.”

Ibrahim told Albawaba.com., “we are working with all the resources we have in order to pull these poor children away from the emotional effects and the depression that result from the Israeli army’s bombings.”

He added that this is the reason behind his decision to “stage different plays and films on a daily basis and in any place we are able to find.”

He means what he says.

Al Samaka AL Thahabiah will soon be performed in the city of Bethlehem.

Meanwhile, other Palestinian cities that are showing some productions include Ramalah, where the animated movie Antz is being shown.

Good news is that organizers say that the traffic to these events, by parents who wish to help their children is increasing on a daily basis. – Albawaba.com.
