Over 100 million pounds in profit for Egyptian TV production during Ramadan

The Egyptians have succeeded to make an enormous profit in the selling of its Ramadan TV series and shows to Arab countries. Officials from the Egyptian TV station said that a large number of shows and episodes of series were sold to countries like Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, UAE, Jordan and more to be aired throughout the month of Ramdan. 

 

The UAE daily Al Bayan reported that over twenty Arab television stations bought rights to air Egyptian shows and series making a profit of 100 million Egyptian pounds (equivalent to 21, 586,616 US dollars). The daily also noted that TV stations made it a point to air shows that star well-known actors like Nour El Sherif, Yusra, Mahmoud Yasin, Hussain Fahmi, and many more. 

 

It was also said that a team of officials from the Egyptian Production Company have recently gone on a visit to Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and UAE to sign agreements for selling around 150 hours of TV shows and drama series for an amount of 30 million Egyptian Pounds. Around 5350 hours were sold to Arab countries like Morocco, Algeria, Sudan, Qatar, Tunisia, Yemen, Oman, and Qatar for approximately 105 million Egyptian pounds.  

 

During the Cannes film festival, the Egyptian Production Company was successful to sell TV programs especially historical shows, to Western countries that have a large Arab population living in them.  

 

The Egyptian Production Company has so far created 13 drama series for the month of Ramadan with a budget reaching almost 60 million Egyptian pounds. This year has so far proved to be a success for the Production Company with profits covering most costs for any work made. –Albawaba.com
