There was never any doubt, but Warner Bros. has officially announced that It, based off half the Stephen King novel, is getting a sequel.

It: Chapter Two will cover the second half of the novel, which concerns the adults who return to Derry, Maine, after reports that children are missing begin to surface—that means the Losers from the original film will probably get a scene or two, and that's it. The original film was set in the 1980's; the sequel will be set in the present day.

Director Andy Muschietti will be returning, as will Gary Dauberman, a co-writer of the first half. Producers Barbara Muschietti, Roy Lee, Dan Lin, Seth Grahame-Smith and David Katzenberg are expected to make a return as well.

The film will be releasing in September 2019.

We were quite impressed with It, though we were not without our qualms. Read our review here, or pick-up a copy of a modern classic—a tribute to the power of memory and bittersweet mystery of a half-remembered childhood.
