Egyptian director Jamal Abdul Hameed has recently finished the filming of the remaining scenes of the Ramadan television drama series "Bint Min Shibra" starring Egyptian actress Laila Elwi. The drama revolves around a common area in Cairo during the forties and sheds some light about that era and exposes the different disputes that take place between cults.

Elwi, who is performing the role of an Italian Christian girl who lives in Shibra neighborhood in Cairo, had 100 dresses specially made for her character in the drama. The director had to use 1000 actors to form the British army and hired a special historian to check the costumes for the British army at that time. A special tailor was hired to do the costumes of the British army and Elwi's outfits all reaching a total cost of 200 thousand EGP.

Elwi has finally ended the commotion she had created by going on strike and refraining from shooting the remaining scenes of “Bint Min Shibra”. The actress called off the strike on the notion that she did not want to ruin her image or that of Egyptian drama in front of Arab viewers.

It has been revealed that the Kuwaiti television has threatened to file a lawsuit demanding 10 million US dollars in compensation if it did not receive the remaining episodes of the drama due to the fact that it had already begun airing it since the beginning of Ramadan.

The cast of the drama have already begun shooting the final scenes in order to place an end to all the commotion that has been created and are hopeful the series will find satisfaction among viewers. Recently, after officials at the Egyptian Broadcasting Company had decided to exclude Elwi’s drama “Bint Min Shibra” just hours before its scheduled airing, the actress decided to go on strike on not film the remaining scenes. Laila had announced that she will not shoot the four remaining scenes of the drama which consist of two indoors and two out, that need at least six days to complete. –Albawaba.com
