The Oscar-winning director Oliver Stone is currently shooting a documentary on the world struggles including the Palestinians’ suffering under the Israeli occupation, according to the daily al Ahram.
The American director visited Monday the Palestinian president Yaser Arafat's office in the Palestinian city of Ramallah. He was joined by a delegation of renowned intellectuals.
Stone had already interviewed a series of Israeli leaders including prime minister Ariel Sharon, in preparation for the documentary which will focus on 72-year-old Arafat.
Stone, who won an Oscar for "Platoon," his 1986 film on the Vietnam War, revealed that his latest project had started recently and involved Spanish and French television companies.
Stone was in Havana last month making a documentary on Cuba and its president, Fidel Castro. American cinema publication Variety said the film, tentatively titled "Looking for Fidel," would include extensive interviews with the 75-year-old communist leader and was produced by Spanish film companies.
Stone has shot many important films including JFK which tackles the American president John Kennedy’s assassination, Natural Born killers, Wall Street, Salvador, The Doors, etc.
