Following a long stint in hiding, actor Nour El Sharif is coming back to the Silver Screen with a big bang.

Ibn El Mawt (Son of Death), takes on the highly controversial subject of the so-called ‘revenge crimes’ that take place in some Arab villages in Egypt, among other countries.

According to Al Sharq El Awsat newspaper, Nour has described the story as “one that is very close to my heart. The film takes on the subject in a way that has never been portrayed before.”

The actor also explained that the story, initially written by author Mohammad Al Basati, was comprised of various small stories that were edited and integrated to form one complete work.

Nour expects that the movie will be received with great enthusiasm and an unprecedented success due to the humanitarian issues it addressees.

The film, set in the Buheirat Al Manzila village in Egypt, begins when a father’s only son is killed on his wedding night.

The angered father decides to avenge his son’s death in a way identical to the night of the murder.

This resolution makes the father wait for many long years; during which he has to save his son’s murder many times in order to complete his desired revenge.

The matter infuriates the parents of the young man destined to die and they demand that the ‘revengeful’ father kill him immediately.

However, the plot thickens when various surprising changes take place.

The film, directed by Mohammad Al Qalyoubi, also stars Abla Kamel, Hanan El Turk and Sawsan Badr. – Albawaba.com.
