Lebanese star Myriam Fares's father, Iryal Elias Fares, sadly passed away after a long battle with illness on Saturday.

While the singer grieved the loss of her beloved dad, dozens of social media users heartlessly criticized her for not allowing photography at the funeral.

Many social media users and online gossip websites joked that Myriam didn't allow anyone to take photos at the funeral because she didn't want anyone snapping pictures of her husband, businessman Dani Mitri, who has remained away of the spotlight since tying the knot to Myriam in 2014.

However, Myriam has bigger problems to worry about: The singer just wanted to grieve in privacy, away from prying eyes.

Lebanese TV host Nishan paid his respects to the starlet and told his fans in a Snapchat video why Myriam chose to keep the funeral private.

"Myriam didn't allow anyone to take any photos of the funeral because she said that it's her right to grieve her father in her own way and in private," he said.

As for whether the media "have the right" to take photos or not, she explained that when it comes to happy occasions, they've the full right to take as many photos as they want, adding that "I didn't want to turn the funeral into a media event." Respect!
