A book released in Cairo on the first anniversary of the death of the late renowned Egyptian actress Suad Hosni expresses certainty that she was killed and did not commit suicide.

The book “Cinderella Speaks” arouses the possibility that the powers that stand behind the penitent artists were responsible for her death particularly in view of the fact that they were constantly after her.

The author of the book, Munir Mutawee’, who was the only journalist who had the chance to meet Hosni during her treatment in London, said that the clues for the secret behind her death could be found with Nadia Yusri in whose flat the latest actress spent her last days.

The book also revealed that five poets discovered Hosni’s singing and acting talent, confirming that some of these poets inspired their poetic creativity from her.

Mutawee’ said, “the first one who discovered her talent was the husband of her eldest sister poet Ahmed Khairat who wrote her songs when she was a kid. The Egyptian poet Abdel Rahman al Khamisi was the first one behind her debut in the film Hasan Wa Naeema in 1958 when she was only 16 years old.”

The late artist inspired poet Salah Abdel Sabour, the most prominent innovator in Arab poetry. The story of her love and secret marriage to the late great singer Abdel Halim Hafez provided rich content from which many poets including Murci Gamil Aziz and Maamoun and Kamel al Shinnawi inspired their words. Poet Salah Jahin was the only one who wrote the scripts for her most successful films including Khalli Balak Min Zoozo by Hasan al Imam who was described by her as her spiritual father who contributed to a big extent to creating her awareness and accuracy in cinema role selection.

In the context of her ties with prominent people, novelist Ehsan Abdel Quddoos and writer Ahmed Bahaiddin had big influence on her career and pushed her towards educating herself. She had also unique relations with the actress Nadia Lutfi.

In a recorded speech to Mutawee’ about her husbands, Hosni said, “after six years of secret marriage to Abdel Halim Hafez, she broke away from him because he refused to declare their marriage fearing for his status despite the fact that she was ready to quit art for his sake.” In the same speech she expressed her pride with her relation with her third husband director Ali Bader Khan which lasted 11 years during which they failed to have children. She described her last husband, screenwriter Maher Awwad as an artist and sensitive – Albawaba.com
