Close sources to Syrian actress Nesrine Tafesh are denying what they claim are rumors of a recent divorce following a four year marriage.
The media had wind of the rumor that Nesrine had managed a divorce in complete secrecy. The alleged marriage break-down was apparently caused by her part in the currently airing TV drama “Banat Al Aylah” (Women of the Family).
In addition to destroying a marriage, the knock on effect of this role - if the rumors are to be believed - has been the closure of the actress' pet-project-owned magazine and namesake ‘Nesrina’.
The sources insist that the rumor, not the first of its kind, was fabricated as the star has faced down divorce whispers on other occasions.
One theory doing the rounds suggests that her professional success had aroused jealousies in rivals, bringing them to fabricate and spin untruths about her personal life and career to blemish her record.
Perhaps she'd have been wise to wear the culturally familiar evil eye amulet or talisman to ward off such jealousies as are notoreiously rife among the female Arab community.
