Artist Nelly will soon begin shooting a show chosen by Egyptian TV to replace the quizzes customarily offered during Ramadan.
The episodes were written by Shamekh Al Shandwili and directed by Ashraf Luli. The program includes 30 separate episodes, which are connected by the character of an artist, played by Nelly, who looks for an art job in each episode.
The TV production department has allocated the sum of one and a quarter million pounds to shoot these episodes.
The rest of the cast is currently being selected.
Nelly told the London-based daily Al Sharq Al Awsat that she did not think of offering the quizzes at present, although she has offered them for 12 years, but “the themes of such quizzes has become out of date, without anything special.”
“But if I find something unique, I shall not hesitate to accept it,” added Nelly – Albawaba.com
