Nawal Al Zoughbi arrived in Qatar to take part in the Doha Festival to hold a performance alongside a number of Arab singers. In the 48 hours of her stay the singer shocked everyone by acting in a manner which was in more ways than one unacceptable.
According to the London based Elaph, upon her arrival and as she was descending from the plane Nawal flipped out at one of the reporters who was trying to take pictures of her and was welcoming to Qatar. The singer began shouting and screaming at the man pushing him away from her, giving an ugly image of herself and even Lebanese singers.
Her rudeness did not stop at the airport, but as soon as she arrived at the hotel she barely greeted those who were waiting for her and gave them the kind of looks that made it seem she is above everyone there. A manner which proved that there have been drastic changes made in the personality of the singer and all of course negative.
The Qatari television held a quick interview with the singer welcoming her to their country. After that a press conference was decided upon in which the singer will hold but after she had time to rest. Before the press conference Nawal demanded that she does not want any representative for the monthly magazine Nadine to be present without giving justifications. This along her previous actions towards the press left a bad impression on the singer in front of everyone.
Nawal's manner was the talk of town the next day, with the decision of banning Nadine from the press conference making matters worse. Her actions only proved that she lacked any self confidence and was in fact afraid to face any and all confrontations.
At the press conference, the first question thrown at her was regarding her imitating the Cuban singer Shakira. In response Nawal said "Do you know Shakira?" as she was the only person in the room who knew anything about the Cuban singer and everyone else was knew nothing except her look. She went on to say that she did not imitate anyone and her image only reflected the new look that was the trend in the music world. Nawal then attacked the journalist accusing Arab journalist of imitating Western ones saying that nothing they write is original. She appeared as if she was the only person who knew everything and everyone else stupid. A second reported asked Nawal about her dispute with Nidal Al Ahmadieh in which the singer only said "Don't ask such questions" and refused commenting further. A number of other reporters threw questions at the singer mostly which she refused to answer of did not give any clear justifications for.
The main question which caused a silence in the room was regarding her determination to forbid any reprehensive from Nadine to be present. In response, Nawal made it seem as if she had no idea of what the reporter was talking about and insisted that she had nothing to do with the matter. Her actions proved that she was in fact a skilled liar and actresses outdoing anyone in the acting business. Everyone present knew that the singer was not being truthful about anything especially since the incident with Nadine is not a rumor and a reality.
After the press conference, the singer made her appearance at the Festival presenting a collection of her new and old songs. –Albawaba.com
