Lebanese singer Nancy Ajram has been chosen for her first acting experience alongside Tunisian actress Hind Sabri in the Egyptian film “Al Basha Tilmeeth” (The Pasha Student). Director Karim Abdul Aziz is to begin the filming of the scenes in the upcoming few days.
According to the London based Al Sharq Al Awsat, the film revolves around a schools and universities strictly for the elite, where students spend enormous amounts of money. Students who enroll in these institutions are mainly from very rich families and usually act ways where they are uncontrollable, excusing any action they undergo with the fact that they are wealthy.
Nancy has decided to accept the role wanting to expand her career in the hope of finding a similar success as the one she found through her singing. She will be costarring in the film alongside Egyptian actors Mohammad Lutfi, Ramiz Jalal, Hassan Hussni, and Dalia Al Buhairi.
After the success of her hit single "Akhasmak Aah" (I'll Upset You), the Lebanese singer is in turmoil trying to choose one of three scenarios presented to her for an upcoming video clip she is to shoot in the next few days. The singer wants to make sure that she makes the wise choice that will in turn add to the popularity she has gained in such a short time.
Each scenario Nancy is presented with is by a different directors either from Egypt or Lebanon. The singer has either previously collaborated with the directors or has always dreamed of working with them, making her decision quite a difficult one. The three directors are Ahmad Al Mahdy, Nadine Labki, and Said Al Marouk, each very well-known in the music industry.
Nancy is careful to make sure that the idea she chooses for her next clip is different from the ones for "Akhsmak Aah" and "Ya Salam", as to not be repeating herself in front of her audience and fans. The singer must make her decision in the nearest time possible in order to begin work on the video.
The singer recently released a second hit single "Ya Salam" (Oh My) in the form of a music video, which is also from her latest album. The style Nancy attributed in the clip was a fifties look and style in which she appeared looking liking the superstars of those time, specifically like the American legend Marilyn Monroe. A special stage had been decorated and prepared for the song that gave viewers flashback to the fifties. In the clip Nancy played the role of a performer whose artistic performance will remind people of the stars of Hollywood especially Monroe.
A special makeup artist and a fashion designer were brought in for the sole purpose of turning Nancy into a star from the old days. The video was directed by Nadine, who directed her previous music video, under the supervision of her business manager Jiji Lamara.
Nancy's description of reaching the top is basically taken one step at a time patiently and carefully. She expressed that she always dreamed of standing on stage and performing to a large crowd and through God's will she achieved that dream and is striving to always improve. –Albawaba.com
