Najwa makes mends between Rotana and LBC

Disputes over differences of opinions broke out between the music production company Rotana and the Lebanese Broadcasting Company LBC. The matter was kept secret between both sides not wanting the situation to get out of hand and reach the press.

Problems had erupted near the end of February when former Lebanese PM Rafiq Al Hariri was assassinated and LBC went in mourning and stopped airing any of the songs it had taken from Rotana, in turn not paying them the rights to air the songs.

LBC had decided not to pay Rotana any extra fees for the clips since it was not airing them, a matter that led the latter to go into rage and stop proving LBC with any new clips. The only clip that was aired was for Lebanese singer Najwa Karam “Shu Jani” (What Came Upon On) during the beginning of March.

After Najwa had completed filming her most recent music video “Hubbak Waja2” (Your Love Hurts), Rotana began airing it exclusively, and it was only naturally that LBC should be also airing it since it was the usual trend.

Najwa had taken on the responsibility of making mends between both sides and organized a meeting for Rotana and LBC to meet and work out their differences. Rotana agreed to give LBC the rights to air their music videos in return LBC is to air a number of television commercials to promote Rotana.
