Lebanese singer Najwa Karam is currently preparing for her upcoming album, which is set to be released in summer, under the production of the Music Production Company Rotana. Najwa had previously declined all offers to hold concerts around the Arab world in order to dedicate her time entirely to completing her album, which she regards as more important than anything else at the time.
According to the London based Elaph, Najwa revealed in an interview that she does not plan to leave her current record company Rotana despite a number of disputes present between them. The main conflict between her and Rotana is the fact the company is loosing its prestige by adding so many new people to its list of singers and placing them with ones who have been in the industry for some time.
Najwa added that she is not against the idea of new singers, but rather against placing new comers at the same level as the more prominent singers who have had more experience in the world of music. She feels that those who have made a name for themselves in the music industry should not be categorized with those who are just starting out. Each singer should be placed at a certain level according to his/her accomplishments and not be regarded as a whole group just so the record company can make a profit.
Karam had previously announced that if rumors do not cease regarding her personal and private life she will leave the music industry and put a stop to her singing career. The singer expressed her anger at tabloids who would not leave her alone and keeping writing lies about her life causing her problems on a regular basis.
Najwa said in an interview with a sad tone that she is sick and tired of all the rumors that are turning her life into a living hell. She added that she is a singer who devotes her time entirely to always give her audience the best and if people don’t refrain from talking about her she will quit singing and become an ordinary lady of society at which point she could care less what anyone would have to say. She said that it is no one’s business if she marries or divorces, if she has children or not, or any other matter outside her career. She wished that people stuck to talking about her singing and let her life be.
The singer also added that from now on her life will be off limits and closed to anyone wishing to know anything, and forbidding any questions that concern her privacy. She had come along way during the past twelve years to make a name for herself in the music world and has succeeded doing so. She is not about to let all that she has worked for go to waste to satisfy people who are sick in the head and have nothing better to do than to ruin the lives of others and cause them despair. –Albawaba.com
