Being in the public eye, as celebrities are, means having to look perfecto at all times.
But poor Egyptian actress Naglaa Fathi has been diagnosed with the horrible skin disease Psoriasis, which marks the skin with red, itchy, scaly patches.
Naglaa's doting husband Hamdi Qandil made the announcement on his official Facebook page, which read, "Unfortunately, Naglaa has been diagnosed with incurable Psoriasis, which has spread to her bones and requires being treated with biological injections that were invented in Switzerland several weeks ago. Treatment would take several weeks in order to monitor any side effects."
Thankfully though, she's got enough dough to fly her out to Zurich, where in a few weeks' time, she will undergo the innovative treatment for her illness.
But it's not just a matter of money, it's about how safe the treatment is going to be. According to Tayyar.org, Naglaa will be the first person to ever try it in Europe! The injections were approved in the US and Japan just three week ago.
And on top of being the University Hospital of Zurich's "lab rat," each injection is going to cost her a whopping $52 thousand USD! According to Laha Magazine, Naglaa will receive four injections in the first month of her treatment.
Qandil said that his wife was diagnosed with Psoriasis over a year ago, which prevented her from attending numerous festivals and events in Egypt. He added that doctors advised her to seek treatment in Switzerland after failing to treat her in Egypt.
Meanwhile, in her first statement since arriving to Zurich, Naglaa said that she's feeling "optimistic and comfortable with her treatment," adding that she's thankful to have her dear husband by her side, who keeps her company and deeply comforts her.
Here's to a successful few weeks of treatment, Naglaa!
