Syrian actress Nadin has recently started shooting the new TV series Jilnar, in which she plays a domineering woman whose wimpy husband drives her crazy with his pathetic complexes.

The drama is a new form of cooperation between director Hisham Sharbaji and screenwriter Mamdouh Hamada, according to the Syria Times.

Starring in series is Bashar Ismael, who plays Salim, Jilnar’s husband, who is preoccupied with fears about reality and the future. But in the end, he overcomes his complex and surmounts his problems.

Abdul Hadi Al Sabagh plays the role of Farid, a husband who suffers from financial crises because of his pitiful salary and reckless business ventures.

The show's various episodes also deal with the problems of senior citizens with too much free time and failing memories. It also covers other family problems such as the indifferent husband who gets enmeshed in projects that drive his family to financial ruin.

The series also casts light on the personality of a female boss and her treatment of men under her leadership. Another major theme in the series is the problems of the younger generation and their aspirations to prove their capabilities amid the difficulties of life.

Director Sharbaji told the daily that “the characters of the series are real and we face them in our daily life.”

He added that he had managed to change the script of the series from the comic side into an objective look at society, pointing out that the series deals with the living situation of employees and students.

The director spoke highly of the scenarios written by Hamada, referring to their simplicity and important ideas through which he can delve deep into the inner soul of human beings – Albawaba.com
