Renowned Egyptian actresses Nadia Al Jundi and Elham Shahin have agreed to heat up the silver screen in “Al Raghbah” (Desire), which is based on the American play “A Streetcar Named Desire” by Tennessee Williams.

The movie’s screenplay is by Rafiq Al Sabban, and it is directed by Ali Bader Khan, who has resumed work after a five-year break following “Al Rajul Athaleth” (The Third Man).

The film explores the life of an aristocratic girl who faces many crises that leave her on the slippery slope to delinquency.

The movie analyzes the characters in terms of the psychology that affects their actions and behavior. Considering the demanding nature of the roles, Shahin and Al Jundi are expected to be competing for the limelight.

Cameras are scheduled to start rolling next month for the film, which also stars Yaser Jalal and Salah Abdulla.

Laila Ulwi was asked to perform alongside Al Jundi, but could not appear due to her commitment to “Bahib Assima” (I Love Cinema) starring Mahmoud Hmaidah and directed by Osama Fouzi - Albawaba.com
