Mustafa Fahmy dies aged 82 after a battle with cancer

ALBAWABA - Egypt's great and well-known actor Mustafa Fahmy died aged 82 in the early hours of Wednesday after a battle with cancer.

Mustafa Fahmy, who is considered one of the most important stars of the seventies, started his artistic career by participating in the lead role in the movie “Where is My Mind” in 1974 along with Rushdi Abaza and the artist Soad Hosny.

The Egyptian superstar Fahmy had recently suffered a health crisis and was transferred to the hospital last August, and underwent a delicate surgery to remove a cancerous tumor in his brain.

Artists mourn Mustafa Fahmy

Multiple Egyptian stars mourned the death of Mustafa Fahmy after a battle with cancer including Amy Samir Ghanem and Donia Samir Ghanem, daughters of actor Samir Ghanem and actress Dalal Abdel Aziz.

Egyptian actor Karim Abdel Aziz also mourned Mustafa's death through a Facebook post. He wrote: "With great sadness and sorrow, we offer our condolences to ourselves and to the great artist, Professor Hussein Fahmy, for the death of his brother, the great artist Mustafa Fahmy, who passed away after a long struggle with illness."

Mustafa Fahmy's life and family:

Fahmy is one of the most famous artists in Egypt and the Arab world, and of Circassian origins from an aristocratic family that practiced politics, as his grandfather Muhammad Pasha Fahmy was the head of the Shura Council, and his father Mahmoud Pasha Fahmy was the secretary of the Shura Council. 

Artist Mustafa married three times; the first to an Italian woman with whom he had his children "Omar and Dina", the second to the artist Rania Farid Shawqi, and then his third wife was the Lebanese media figure Faten Moussa.
