The Egyptian Society for Culture, Art and Creativity decided to build a number of music kiosks in Cairo and other districts to provide the people who go to these places with free songs by pioneers and beautiful art giants, such as, Abdel Halim Hafez, Umm Kulthoum, Mohammed Abdel Wahab and others.

The society got the green light Monday from the governors of Cairo and Giza to erect these kiosks at the public places and gardens to expand to all Egyptian districts at the second stage.

“This resolution has come as part of the society’s plan through which it works to spread cultural and artistic awareness among the public at large and reviving the songs of pioneers,” the society chairman of the board, musician Hani Mhanna told the London-based Arabic daily al Sharq al Awsat.

The music kiosks will be established at the Greater Cairo squares including Tahrir, Ramsis, Atabah and others in addition to public gardens and parks visited by the public for the purpose of entertainment.

Specialized military police art troupes and Opera House troupes will play music pieces daily from 7-10 PM. The kiosks will start their actual work by the end of this month -- Albawaba.com
